Meet Griffin

Spending his time in a mix of freshwater lakes, boreal forest, prairie, mountains and ocean, Griffin has been very fortunate to explore, study, and grow in more landscapes than he could ever hope to. Every backcountry trip he has been on has motivated him to help make outdoor experiences more accessible and safer for everyone.

Griffin's research

Griffin hopes to share his experiences working in parks and protected areas and as an outdoor educator in his research at SFU in the SARP lab to build strong relationships and help clear up some of the confusion around backcountry safety, risk communication, and in particular snowshoeing!

That’s right snowshoers, Griffin wants to get to know you over the next couple winters. He will be up on the North Shore Mountains over the coming winters to better understand the snowshoeing community! Through relationship building, curiosity, listening and sharing, he hopes to highlight ways to make winter recreation more approachable for everybody.
